“Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.” — Philippians 2:5–7
Following Jesus often changes what strength looks like.
In most workplaces, influence comes from being the one in charge — the one others answer to. But Jesus showed a different kind of leadership.
In the kitchen, the best leaders don’t stand back with folded arms. They do the dirty work — chopping onions, wiping counters, whatever needs to be done. A great chef steps off the pedestal, grabs a towel, and cleans up when needed.
Jesus did far more than that.He laid aside glory, stepped into our mess, and served us all the way to the cross.
This letter to the Philippians reminds us that true strength isn’t found in demanding honor, but in choosing humility. God’s kingdom rarely grows through recognition — it grows through ordinary people choosing humility in everyday moments.
Try This Today:
Where can you lower yourself to lift someone else up today? At home, at work, or in church, choose to serve without needing credit. That’s Christ’s mindset — and the recipe for real impact.
Standing with you,
around the table,
