“Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.” — 1 Corinthians 16:13–14
Thinking of you all this morning. I’m learning a lot in my seminary classes — I don’t think I’ve ever read this much in my life. Paul’s letter to the Corinthians lays out biblical manhood in just two sentences.
This is a charge.
Be Watchful
A godly person doesn’t coast through life half-awake. Guard your thoughts, habits, and what you allow into your home and mind. Distraction is rarely loud — it’s gradual. Stay sharp.
Stand Firm in the Faith
Everything around you shifts — culture, moods, opinions, circumstances. Truth doesn’t. Feelings wobble, but a life rooted in Christ stays planted.
Be Strong.
Biblical strength looks like steady obedience — Not chest-pounding toughness:
Apologizing first
Staying when things get hard
Leading your family spiritually
Saying no to sin
Getting back up when you want to quit
That’s real strength.
Let All You Do Be Done in Love
Strength without love becomes harsh.
Truth without love becomes cold.
But strength shaped by love looks like Jesus.
Watchful. Firm. Strong. Loving.
That’s the person God is forming.
Try This Today:
Which one do you need most right now — alertness, firmness, strength, or love?
Pick one and practice it intentionally today.
Standing with you,
around the table,
